Assembly TechnicianLocation: Black Mountain, NC Schedule: M-F | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Pay: $20/hr – DOEAbout the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will build and assemble high-performance environmental control and refrigeration systems used in specialized laboratory environments. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work, precision assembly, and working from technical drawings. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship will directly impact the quality and performance of our systems.What You'll DoAssemble mechanical components and subassemblies, including pumps, blowers, heaters, and refrigeration-related systemsCut, bend, and fit copper and stainless-steel tubing to precise specificationsPerform drilling, tapping, threading, and general metal fabrication tasksRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate buildsInstall gaskets, seals, and caulking to maintain system integrity and performanceUse precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers) to verify tolerances and quality standardsInspect completed assemblies and identify any issues prior to final integrationMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentWhat We're Looking ForStrong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and assembly workAbility to read and interpret blueprints or willingness to learnExperience with metal fabrication, tubing, or refrigeration systems is a plusFamiliarity with precision measuring tools and basic math skillsReliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a team environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs independently (up to 70 lbs with assistance)High school diploma or GED requiredForklift experience or willingness to become certified
