Assembly Technician IIAgile Space Industries is seeking an Assembly Technician II to support the production of rocket engines at our manufacturing center in Durango, Colorado. In this role, you will work with our Manufacturing Engineers to support the delivery of high-quality rocket hardware for in-space propulsion and R&D applications. You will assemble and test rocket engines. You will use computer software to track builds and record data related to builds. You will make recommendations for improvements to the build processes and facility equipment. You will handle decontamination of rocket engines after hot fire testing.ResponsibilitiesFabrication, assembly, and test of rocket engine hardwareMaintain a clean and organized shop suitable for high quality aerospace fabricationProvide ongoing feedback on build and test proceduresDocument build processes in a computer-based shop floor management systemImprove processes and tools to make the job easierOther tasks as assignedRequirementsPersonal commitment to attention to detail and delivering conforming products to our customersUnderstand and interpret technical schematics and drawingAssemble hardware, paying close attention to detail with hardware processing and hardware safetyTest assemblies and components to verify conformance prior to hotfire testingWork autonomously and take initiative in a high cadence environmentProvide ongoing feedback on hardware and processes to drive manufacturing improvementsComfortable with change and growth to embrace new techniques as they emerge and upgrade skills to grow professionally along with our business needsAssist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records, and other related items; assure correctness of all documentsParticipate with our team of internal auditors to maintain our QMS (Quality Management System) per AS9100.Report issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel, as requiredSafety: Monitor events, materials, and surroundings: Identifying any unsafe situation and notifying an immediate member of managementMinimum QualificationsMechanical aptitude and interest in aerospace fabrication and assembly processesDemonstrated experience working with complex mechanisms and structureDemonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in team environmentsPossess strong oral and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWorks as a competent member of the team, and willingly provides back-up support for coworkers when appropriate.Professional phone, email and written correspondence skills requiredProficient in Microsoft OfficeWillingness to travel to domestic locations to assist with company events and work overtime as neededAble to maintain confidential information for the company and within regulatory guidelines requiredReliable commute to ensure punctual attendance to every scheduled workdayShow up to work consistently and on timeExperience in US Space Defense, Civil Space, and Commercial Space sectors a plus but not requiredHighly detailed with strong organizational and time management skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colorsFrequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumesFrequently lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.Employment Type: Non-ExemptSalary Range: $23.00 - $28.85 an hour.
