Job description
Mechanical Assembly TechnicianLock Manufacturing is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling, repairing, testing, and inspecting mechanical products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and takes pride in producing quality products.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical components and finished products according to drawings and work instructions.Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders.Inspect parts for quality and identify defects before assembly.Troubleshoot assembly issues and recommend improvements.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.Work with supervisors and team members to resolve production issues.Follow all company safety policies and procedures.Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, technical training, hobbies, automotive repair, farming, construction, military service, or similar experience.Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, bend, and work throughout an 8-10 hour shift.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.Successful CandidateA successful candidate will:Learn quickly and adapt to new processes.Be dependable and arrive ready to work every day.Produce quality work with minimal supervision.Demonstrate strong attention to detail.Take ownership of problems and help solve them.Work well with others while maintaining a positive attitude.Follow instructions while continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency.Maintain a safe and organized work environment.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate possesses:Strong mechanical aptitude and enjoys working with equipment and tools.Experience in manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, automotive repair, welding, machining, fabrication, or industrial maintenance.Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and think critically.Excellent attendance and reliability.Self-motivation and willingness to cross-train in multiple departments.Commitment to producing high-quality products.Desire to grow within the company and take on additional responsibilities.Physical RequirementsFrequently lift up to 50 pounds.Stand and walk for extended periods.Bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull as needed.Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.Safely wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Preferred SkillsMechanical assembly experienceBlueprint readingUse of precision measuring instrumentsBasic electrical or pneumatic knowledgeForklift experience (preferred but not required)Continuous improvement mindsetLock Manufacturing is committed to producing quality products through teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
