nThe UW Counseling Center has an outstanding opportunity for a n Assessment Coordinator and Psychologist to join their team.

nAbout this Opportunity

nReporting to the Assistant Director, the Assessment Coordinator & Psychologist is responsible for providing short-term mental health counseling services and psychological assessment to enrolled UW students. This includes coordination of the ADHD testing program. This role also provides professional consultation to UW faculty, staff, and students regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic challenges to enhance the campus climate for student success.

nThis position involves daily intense contact with UW students in psychological or academic distress. Consultation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and appropriate referrals - on and off campus - will be required. This position requires the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment. Understanding the role of trauma (historical, community, family, and personal) in wellness and recovery is key. Cultural proficiency and expertise working with BIPOC students is required. This position requires excellent crisis intervention skills.

nThis role serves on the UW Seattle campus, and is scheduled to work M-F, with occasional evening hours. Telework is currently available 2x/week.

nKey Responsibilities

nPsychotherapy and Consultation with campus partners (40%)

nnnProvide clinical counseling for individual, group, and on/off campus referrals to currently-enrolled UW students, including initial intake assessments and referral.

n

nnProvide crisis assessment and intervention when students present in distress.

n

nnProvide professional consultation to UW faculty, staff, and students regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic challenges to enhance an inclusive campus climate for student success.

n

n nAssessment Coordination (25%)

nnnCoordinate the psychological testing program at the Counseling Center, which includes testing for ADHD.

n

nnProvide ADHD assessments throughout the academic year (on average about 10 per quarter).

n

n nDocumentation (20%)

nnEnsuring accurate and timely documentation of assessment, treatment and services provided.

n nOther Responsibilities (1 5 %)

nnnProvide individual clinical supervision of doctoral psychology interns and teach training seminars on topics of expertise and interest.

n

nnBe part of an interdisciplinary team designed to enhance the mental health of UW students, create a healthier and more inclusive campus climate, and to respond to mental health crises. This includes participating in staff meetings, committees or other center projects.

n

nnEngage in professional development to keep current in the field, including maintaining clinical license to practice in Washington.

n nRequired Qualifications

nMinimum Qualifications

nnnDoctoral Degree in Counseling/Clinical Psychology.

n

nnOne year full-time experience (can include internship and/or postdoc) providing mental health counseling

n

nnCurrent licensure in the state of Washington as a licensed psychologist, OR candidate is license eligible and will be a licensed psychologist within three months of hire date.

n

n nAdditional Qualifications

nnnTwo-years post licensure in the state of Washington or another jurisdiction, which allows for clinical supervision of interns.

n

nnExperience providing mental health counseling and psychological testing with college-aged clients, preferably in a university counseling center.

n

nnExperience providing psychological test batteries, including ADHD assessments.

n

nnDemonstrated cultural proficiency and deep experience serving diverse populations, including testing.

n

nnEvidence of outstanding skills in clinical assessment, psychotherapy and counseling, crisis management, and psycho-education.

n

n nPreferred Qualifications :

nnnDemonstrated administrative/coordination skills and attention to details.

n

nnDemonstrated skill in working well under pressure to prioritize and manage multiple clinical responsibilities.

n

nnStrong communication and interpersonal skills.

n

nnExperience providing treatment via telehealth technology.

n
