Mogul is a highly motivated team building platforms and products for the future of real estate.

We are driven by the belief that technology can fundamentally reshape the entire real estate industry. We leverage cutting-edge tools and artificial intelligence to increase transparency, lower the barriers to entry, and create efficiencies across all facets of real estate.

Our real estate investing platform provides all investors direct access to high-quality, cash-flowing, residential US properties. With additional products / platforms implemented at scale, we architect the new infrastructure of real estate.

Our team's culture of inclusion and open discussion drives efficiencies, innovation, and autonomy. We operate in the exact way you had been saying your former employer should have operated this entire time (if the meeting could be an email, it will be; no PowerPoint presentations with fancy renderings).

Join our mission to bring one of life's necessities (shelter) into the AI digital age, open the asset class to millions, and in doing so, enhance financial literacy and shrink the wealth gap.

Mogul's Core Values

We, Not I — A company is just a collection of people striving towards a goal. To achieve the goal, we all need to be striving for the goal together

Creative Problem Solving — Every problem has a solution, it just might not be the most direct path. Operate on principles, and solve from there

The Highest Quality (1 of 1) — Approach everything with quality, every interaction, product, property, everything. The little things matter

Client obsessed — We are nothing without our customers. Treat them like you would treat family, assuming you love your family

Input focused, Output oriented — Everything is measurable, our inputs drive outputs, and the scientific method is how we learn & grow

Let's F*cking Grow — Pretty simple, grow, learn, act. Just make sure you are pushing forward in all areas at a rapid pace

Execute — Execute. Execute. Execute

Mogul's Purpose

Unlock Real Estate, Make Money, Create Impact

Mogul's Niche

Redefining Residential Real Estate

About the Role

The team is seeking a sharp, analytical asset manager to join Mogul. You'll join our asset management team working directly under our VP of Asset Management, and you'll be one of the people closest to our properties day to day. We recently passed the 150-property mark and are scaling toward 1,000 and beyond, and this role exists to make sure every one of those properties performs and that the numbers behind them are right.

You'll own the full financial picture of the properties: monthly financials, reserves, distributions, and the analysis on top of it. This is the way asset managers at the best shops operate: you know your deals cold because you work the numbers yourself. You'll pair that with real asset management work, from onboarding new property managers to spotting underperformance early to building the systems that let us scale.

Real Estate Asset Management: Work with internal and external teams to optimize the performance and value of Mogul's real estate verticals (Coliving/PadSplit, STR, LTR)

Property Financials: Own monthly financials, reserves, and distribution readiness for your properties, and turn the numbers into decisions

Portfolio Operations: Onboard new property managers and vendors into our systems and keep every entity in good standing

A financial analysis background (investment banking, real estate finance, or similar) is ESSENTIAL. Comfort with accrual accounting and reconciliations is required. You do not need to be an accountant, but you need to be able to walk through a property P&L line by line and defend it.

What You'll Do

Report directly to the VP of Asset Management

Work cross-functionally with our Director of Accounting and Tax and all teams as needed

Work day to day with our rapidly expanding network of property managers and operators: chasing documentation, resolving discrepancies, and tracking follow-ups

Monthly property financials

Prepare monthly statements for your properties: reconcile cash and reserve accounts, book property management statements, set accruals, and review every line item for operational truth

Track vacancy, maintenance, working capital, and construction reserves and make sure draws are booked correctly and settled against proceeds

Get financials distribution-ready each month and flag any cash shortfall or performance concern before it hits investors

Closely monitor property performance for actionable insights

Help develop and run Mogul's performance dashboards; investigate variances and flag underperformance early

Identify winning trends across our best-performing properties to implement portfolio-wide

Model sensitivities on proposed initiatives and track recommendations to property managers through to completion

Property manager and vendor onboarding

Set up and maintain expense coding rules for every new property manager and vendor, and confirm the automation is right through the first billing cycles

Use AI to automate the repeat work so your time goes to analysis, not data entry

Entity and property compliance

Keep every property entity in good standing: formations, registrations, annual filings, short-term rental permits, and local tax submissions

Where This Goes

We're building this role as a path to owning a vertical. You'll start across the portfolio with full command of the financials, gravitate toward an asset class or a function (revenue optimization, reserves and cash strategy, compliance), and grow into running it, the strategy behind it, and eventually the team beneath you.

Required Skills & Technology

Ability to quickly learn concepts, skills, and processes on the fly

Strong real estate financial fundamentals: P&L analysis, reading rent rolls and operating statements, cash flow

Working knowledge of accrual accounting, debits and credits, and reconciliations

Strong Excel (lookups, pivot tables, building a model from scratch)

Use AI to automate workflows and existing processes

Messaging systems (Slack, Teams, Telegram, etc.)

Capacity to justify every decision with data-backed analysis

Creative problem-solver who seeks multiple solutions to one problem rather than one solution to multiple problems

Required Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, xxzpjkt or a related field

1 to 3 years in investment banking, real estate finance, real estate private equity, asset management, or a comparable financial analysis role

Property Financials: Hands-on experience producing or reviewing financial statements and reconciliations, whether from a deal team, an operating role, or a close process

Data Scrubbing: Taking raw, inconsistent operational data across PM statements, rent rolls, management portals, and work orders and standardizing it into clean, analysis-ready shape

Communication & Stakeholder Management: Clear communicator who can coordinate across property managers, vendors, and internal teams simultaneously

Execution & Ownership: Driven to move fast, comfortable with ambiguity, and committed to building repeatable processes

Growth Capacity: Capacity to grow into managing a team of junior analysts as the portfolio scales toward 1,000+ properties

Nice to Have

Experience with short-term rentals, Coliving/PadSplit, or other alternative residential strategies

Exposure to partnership tax, K-1s, or entity compliance

Experience with an ERP, accounting, or spend management platform

Quantitative background beyond the rent roll: statistics, data analysis, or model-driven decision-making (pricing models, forecasting)

Hands-on property operations exposure: you've dealt with a make-ready, a maintenance dispute, or a property manager who wouldn't answer straight

What Mogul Offers

Opportunity to advance the entire real estate industry and become part of the new face of real estate

Efficiency, transparency, and open lines of communication

Creative environment with room to grow in both your role and career

Growth and performance based on work product, not on hours spent working (if Leonardo Da Vinci was based on quantity rather than quality, he would be considered the worst painter of all time)

Autonomous level of responsibility, with direct engagement of key stakeholders and leadership

Competitive compensation

Competitive equity compensation package

In-office Benefits: DC & NYC

Comprehensive benefits plan

Flexible work environment
