Asset Protection AssociateScheels Company Goals:We strive to be the best retailer in the USA in the eyes and minds of our customers, associates, and business partners.Overview:The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our associates and customers and securing Scheels' assets while demonstrating professional asset protection standards. This individual will be responsible for deterring criminal activity by adhering to a facility's security measures. The duties include reviewing video surveillance equipment to identify suspicious behaviors, patrolling the interior and exterior of a property at set intervals, and only providing property access to authorized individuals. You will work hand in hand with the corporate risk management leaders to ensure company safe practices are maintained.What We Commit To – Our Employee Ownership Values:Delivering a Personalized WOW Customer ExperienceHaving a Team-First, Winning MentalityLearning and Adapting to Constant ChangeTaking Pride in Our Work and Thinking Like OwnersExpecting Honesty and Integrity in All That We DoResponsibilities:Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigationsMaintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agenciesCollaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threatsAssist leadership with cash handling and transfersObserve customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraudAddressing external theft concerns through uniform presence with strategic methods, as well as apprehending shoplifters when appropriate, according to company policy, ethical standards, and guidelinesMonitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviewsDocumenting incidents by creating objective and thorough reports in a timely mannerMaintaining all apprehension and investigation records according to company standardsDeveloping and maintaining knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipmentAssisting in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisorMaintain a highly visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate, as well as assist with inventory controlsAbility to work night, weekend, and/or early morning hours based on business needsSafety:Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customersWelcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally, and assist them in locating staff within the storesIssue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping cartsExamine and properly tag property being brought into the stores, including personal property, equipment for service, and firearmsWatch facilities and parking areas on foot. Direct traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic, while enforcing parking regulationsMake regularly scheduled floor and exterior walks to ensure the safety and security of the customers and facilityComplete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales floor or backstocksEducation & Experience:High School Diploma/GED College graduate preferredProven track record of strong communication and organization skillsPreference for candidates with prior Loss prevention (2-3 years)Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Scheels cares about the health and safety of our Associates.
