Job description
Asset Protection SpecialistPrevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.ResponsibilitiesModel Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer serviceDetect, deter and/or detain external theft suspectsReduce customer and associate dishonesty by initiating and encouraging actions to prevent external and internal theftMonitor large shrink areas in storesReport incidents to the asset protection managerSupport customer and associate relations through communication and trainingProvide credible court testimonyIdentify areas of high theftVerify compliance with corporate policiesPromote and follow company initiativesMaintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends on a regular basisMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsKnowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structureBachelor’s degree in criminal justiceRetail security experienceLaw enforcement experienceAbility to continue educationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a combination of relevant education and experienceMinimum 18 years of age/21 years of age in AlaskaAbility to pass a drug testAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentialityAbility to organize/prioritize tasks/projectsFamiliarity with loss prevention terms and processesProficient Microsoft Office skills
