Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor
The George Washington School of Nursing invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track open rank faculty position. The School's research interests include symptom science, oncology, behavioral health, health policy and population health. This full-time, 12-month position is scheduled to begin as early as fall 2026. This is an on-campus position, not remote.
Specific duties and responsibilities include developing and maintaining an independent, externally funded research program; maintaining an ongoing record of scholarly productivity, including publications and presentations; teaching courses as assigned; mentoring and advising students in research; participating in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams; participating in faculty governance, including serving on departmental, school, and/or university committees; and participating in a professional capacity in nursing and research organizations at the national and international level.
Minimum qualifications include an earned PhD in nursing, public health, education or related field by the date of application; a nursing degree at any level; an emerging body of scholarship, as evidenced by presentations and peer-reviewed publications; a track record of external funding; strong methodological and statistical skills; prior college-level teaching experience, including comfort with in-person and online learning; and eligibility for unencumbered DC and VA nursing licensure.
Advertised salary is $120,000 to $200,000. This position is eligible for full-time employee health benefits. All faculty hiring decisions will be contingent upon final approval by the Provost.
