Our team takes the time to understand our customers and provide thoughtful financial solutions that help them succeed.We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in the daily leadership and operation of our Vero Beach branch. This position plays an important role in ensuring exceptional customer service, employee development, operational efficiency, business development, and compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements. In addition to branch leadership responsibilities, this position provides lending and loan administration support, working closely with lenders and customers to facilitate loan requests, documentation, closings, construction draws, and other lending-related activities. The ideal candidate is an experienced banking professional who enjoys leading people, building customer relationships, solving problems, and supporting both retail banking and commercial lending activities.Key ResponsibilitiesBranch Leadership & Team DevelopmentSupport the Branch Manager in the overall leadership, daily operation, and performance of the branch, including employee scheduling, timecard approval, and other administrative responsibilities.Lead, coach, and mentor branch employees to promote professional development, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.Train and mentor new employees and provide ongoing guidance to ensure employees understand Bank policies, procedures, products, and regulatory requirements.Serve as a resource for branch employees by assisting with complex transactions, customer situations, operational questions, and problem resolution.Promote a professional, positive, and service-focused branch environment by modeling the Bank's values and expectations.Customer Service & Business DevelopmentDeliver and promote exceptional customer service while handling complex customer questions, complaints, and special situations in a professional and timely manner.Assist customers with deposit and cash management accounts, account histories, statements, loan and deposit products, and other banking needs while maintaining confidentiality and complying with applicable regulations.Build and maintain strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to meet additional customer needs through appropriate Bank products and services.Support branch business development efforts through referrals, cross-selling, sales campaigns, community activities, and other relationship-building initiatives.Assist the Branch Manager in achieving branch goals related to customer service, business development, profitability, and overall performance.Branch Operations & Risk ManagementSupport accurate and efficient daily branch operations, including cash handling, transaction approvals, balancing, discrepancy resolution, overdraft and NSF activity, and other branch controls.Exercise sound judgment when approving transactions within established authority limits and escalate matters requiring additional approval.Maintain accurate records and controls related to vault activities, cashier's checks, customer files, safe and secure document storage, and other assigned operational responsibilities.Assist with branch security procedures, audits, required testing, and operational reviews to help protect customers, employees, and Bank assets.Ensure branch activities are conducted in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, security standards, and applicable laws and regulations.Lending & Loan Administration SupportAssist lenders and customers with loan requests by gathering financial, collateral, and other information needed for underwriting, documentation, and loan processing.Support loan administration activities, including reviewing loan exception information, following up on outstanding documentation, generating payoff letters, and maintaining accurate loan files.Assist with loan closings, mortgage loan applications, construction draws, and other lending activities as needed.Assist lenders with communication and follow-up with customers, title companies, attorneys, and other parties to ensure timely responses and completion of loan requirements.Upload and maintain loan documentation in applicable systems and ensure completed loan files are submitted to Loan Operations in accordance with Bank procedures.Monitor loans and lines of credit as assigned and assist with ensuring compliance with established terms and documentation requirements.Compliance & Professional StandardsMaintain knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Regulation B, Regulation E, Regulation CC, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and applicable consumer lending and disclosure requirements.Ensure customer transactions, loan activities, and branch operations are conducted in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and appropriate approval authorities.Promote operational accuracy, strong internal controls, and a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the branch.Maintain ForEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Associate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.2–5 years of banking, retail banking, financial services, or related experience preferred.Three or more years of cash handling, sales, customer service, or related financial services experience preferred.Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience preferred.Experience with consumer or commercial lending and loan administration preferred.Skills & QualificationsStrong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.Working knowledge of retail banking operations, lending processes, and applicable banking regulations.Ability to make sound, timely decisions regarding customer transactions while balancing customer service with Bank risk, loss prevention, and fraud considerations.Ability to understand and apply consumer lending and disclosure requirements.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, lenders, management, vendors, and other business partners.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and remain professional and composed
