Assistant Civil Engineering Project Manager – Land Development

Baton Rouge, Louisiana | Full-Time

We’re representing a leading engineering firm on an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Civil Engineering Project Manager to join their growing Land Development team in Baton Rouge.

This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer with Project Engineer experience who is ready to take the next step into project management, leadership, and client-facing responsibilities. The Opportunity

You’ll help manage projects from inception through completion while taking on increasing responsibility across project delivery, team leadership, client relationships, and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with managing land development projects from inception through completion

Coordinate and oversee the work of engineers, designers, interns, and technicians

Assist with project schedules, budgets, proposals, contracts, invoicing, and financial tracking

Coordinate with clients, design teams, government agencies, and other disciplines

Participate in client and agency meetings

Develop and track project milestones to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

Prepare engineering plans, construction documents, and supporting design calculations

Perform and maintain QA/QC on engineering and construction documents

Help identify and manage additional project scope and services

Assist with business development and client relationship management

Resolve design conflicts and field construction issues

Support the technical and financial management of multiple projects

Help lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers and design staff

Make independent decisions regarding project issues, design approaches, and methods

What They’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

5+ years of Civil Engineering Experience

2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer

Louisiana PE license, or the ability to obtain one

Experience working on civil/land development projects

Previous leadership experience, or someone ready to step into a leadership role

Strong technical engineering and QA/QC skills

Experience with project budgets, schedules, proposals, and client coordination

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project

Ability to delegate work, coordinate teams, and provide mentorship

Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a broader project perspective

Client-focused approach with the ability to understand and anticipate client needs
