Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Health Services (ADHS) supports the Director of Health Services in overseeing resident wellness and clinical operations, with a primary focus on the Memory Care community. This role plays a key part in ensuring quality resident care, medication management, regulatory compliance, and staff training.
The ADHS serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for medication technicians and caregiving staff while fostering strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing resident health and wellness programs within the community
Conduct resident assessments including move-in, quarterly, and significant change assessments
Monitor medication administration systems and ensure accuracy of physician orders and MAR documentation
Train, mentor, and observe medication technicians to ensure compliance and quality care
Review pharmacy consultant reports and follow up on clinical recommendations
Investigate medication errors and implement corrective action plans
Conduct audits related to medication administration, narcotics, skin concerns, and regulatory compliance
Support infection control procedures and community health initiatives
Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams regarding resident care
Participate in quality assurance and service planning efforts
Help maintain compliance with Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations
Qualifications
Current RN or LPN license in good standing
CPR certification required
3-5 years of nursing experience preferred
Senior living, Assisted Living, or Memory Care experience preferred
Strong organizational and leadership abilities
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and delegate effectively
Comfortable using electronic charting systems and computer applications
Knowledge of state healthcare regulations and clinical standards
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling required
