Assistant District AttorneyThree openings exist for assistant district attorney with County of Blair, located in Hollidaysburg, PA. Our hire will represent County in criminal matters from preliminary hearing court date at the magistrate level through their potential jury or court trial. Essential duties include reviewing and approving criminal complaints; advising police on criminal investigations; interviewing and preparing witnesses, expert witnesses, and victims; examining and selecting juries; filing, preparing, and litigating both pre- and post-trial motions; attending preliminary conference, jury selection, and trial list review; litigating cases from initial charges through appeal, including through pleas or jury trials; negotiating case settlements; writing briefs and legal documents; researching legal topics; maintaining licensure and legal education credentials; and driving/traveling as necessary.
