Description
Position: Assistant General Counsel
Monogram is seeking anAssistant General Counselto act in anin-house attorneyrole that will reportto theAssociate General Counsel | Chief Commercial and Regulatory Counselof Monogram Health, Inc. andwill bea key member of the legal team. This role is a generalist position that will require judgment, multi-taskingand both strategic and "in-the-weeds" work. The ideal candidate will havepreviousin-house experience and/or four or more years' experience at a leading corporate law firm. This attorney willbe responsible forcontracting and transaction initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have broad familiarity with the laws and regulations governing the activities of the company, a strong professional presence, and the demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate contracts.
Responsibilities:
Negotiating and drafting agreements and contracts on behalf of the company, including commercial vendor contracts, client agreements, leases and technology licenses
Offering counsel on a variety of legal and compliance issues, including healthcare regulatory matters (especially privacy issues); contractual matters, including potential risks and liabilities; corporate organization; and litigation management
Collaborating with senior executives and departments within the company on important strategic initiatives
Researching and anticipating unique legal and healthcare regulatory/compliance issues that couldimpactthe company
Using independent judgement to **escalate** important legal and compliance issues to the company's governing body
Key Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in good standing.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/ commercial issues
Managed care experience is required, in particular negotiation of value-based care agreements, minimum 1-2 years of experience
General knowledge of healthcare regulatory law, in particular fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA and privacy matters, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid obligations, and corporate practice of medicine
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization across all businesses
