Assistant General Manager – Kosher Supermarket
Location: Flushing, NY
Salary: $85,000–$120,000 + Comprehensive Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time
The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily store operations, lead and develop associates, drive sales performance, maintain operational standards, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support the General Manager in overseeing all areas of store operations, including the front end and individual departments.
Drive sales performance while managing costs, labor utilization, and overall operational efficiency.
Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and coordination of store events and initiatives.
Partner with department managers to establish goals, monitor performance, and achieve store targets.
Oversee the execution of weekly sales promotions, merchandising initiatives, and product presentation standards.
Maintain store cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with health, safety, and company standards.
Partner with corporate teams on merchandising, product placement, audits, and operational initiatives.
Support employee relations, performance reviews, training, and associate engagement.
Coach and develop associates and supervisors while promoting accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
Address customer concerns and ensure a consistently high level of customer service.
Identify opportunities to improve sales, processes, and overall store performance.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of management experience within a large retail, supermarket, grocery, or wholesale environment.
Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced operation.
Strong understanding of sales performance, labor management, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Proven leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
Strong decision-making, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Experience driving process improvements and achieving operational goals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
