Jamaica Hospital Medical Center-part of the Medisys Health Network-is seeking a dedicated Assistant Head Nurse to join our Psychiatry Department on the night shift. Your Role
As Assistant Head Nurse, you will partner with the Nurse Manager to drive excellence in patient care and unit operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and operational support to the Nurse Manager
Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff
Coordinate shift assignments and staffing coverage
Supervise and evaluate staff performance and development
Deliver hands-on clinical leadership and support
Oversee and assist with incident, accident, and investigatory reporting
Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards

Requirements Current NYS RN License
BLS & ACLS (AHA required)
1-2 years of supervisory experience (Psychiatry/Behavioral Health preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
