Assistant Highway Maintenance ManagerGrow your leadership skills as an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. In this role, you support essential highway maintenance operations that serve communities across McKean County. You will help plan work, direct crews, and oversee important roadway projects. Join a dedicated team that works hard to keep travel safe and reliable for everyone.This position helps manage maintenance operations, work planning, and crew supervision across an assigned area of McKean County. As an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager, you will perform the following duties:Maintenance Planning: Develop plans and estimates for roadway, bridge, and seasonal maintenance operationsCrew Supervision: Direct general and specialized crews during maintenance and minor construction workWork Scheduling: Prepare drafts of long range, annual, monthly, and weekly work plansAgility Coordination: Work with local organizations to negotiate and oversee fair service exchange agreementsInspection Oversight: Review maintenance activities and coordinate inspections of contract workPersonnel Management: Assign tasks, evaluate performance, coach employees, and address staffing needsInterested in learning more? Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.QualificationsMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); orSix years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Special Requirement:All positions require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
