Job description
Mechanical Assembly Technician
The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly and repair of pneumatic low and high-pressure packing pumps in the production line with minimum supervision. Job Responsibilities include reading, understanding, and following assembly prints, experience with electro/mechanical components, and the use of assembly hand tools such as crimp tools, drills, torque wrenches, rivet and insertion tools, etc. The technician must build finished assemblies within defined time standards and with a high level of quality, troubleshoot assemblies, and make appropriate adjustments/corrections to hardware. They should also use a variety of precision measuring and gauging instruments such as scales, calipers, and micrometers, and maintain a record of the assembly process, progress, and problems. The technician must wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines and perform other jobs as needed for production and as assigned by the Team Lead. Good communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse staff are essential. The technician will assist other technicians for PM and projects and be familiar with computerized ticket systems and PM. Job Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, computer skills with Microsoft Office products and email, knowledge of integration processes, concepts, alternatives, and best practices, the ability to read engineering schematics and drawings, and the ability to be a quick learner, follow direction, problem solve, multitask, and adapt to changes to promote efficiency and productivity. Flexibility and availability to work overtime as required by EF needs are also necessary. The technician must be able to stand, bend, reach, and handle bulky parts with the ability to frequently lift to 35 pounds.
