POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Merchant I will be responsible for managing samples and assisting in phases of product selection for their designated brand/product category. The Assistant Merchant I will play a part in the product development process by working alongside the Merchant/Senior Merchant. The Assistant Merchant I will also be responsible for pulling reports and analyzing merchandising KPIs for both catalog and web.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Open, organize, and maintain all inbound samples
Create, track and update sample management lists
Set up sample items in advance of merchant meetings or on as needed basis
Support the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandise Manager in all phases of product selection and development for both catalog and web
Interact daily with cross-functional teams to coordinate merchandising objectives and support collaboration
Conduct competitive research by shopping catalog and retail competition to identify key items and trends
Assist Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandise Manager in the reporting of business results and Key Performance Indicators
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising or a related field
1-2 years of merchandising or product related experience required
Ability to multi-task, and flexible to changing priorities
Strong communication and follow up skills required
Detail-oriented, strong organization and follow-up skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must
