Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager – Operating Room (OR) to support the daily clinical and operational functions of a General Operating Room. This role provides leadership to OR nursing staff, supports patient flow and staffing, promotes regulatory readiness, and serves as a clinical and operational resource across surgical specialties.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operating room operations, patient flow, and staffing coverage.
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop OR nursing staff to promote strong performance, teamwork, and engagement.
Support a continuous state of readiness for regulatory, accreditation, and quality surveys.
Identify and implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, workflow, and departmental efficiency.
Support the Nurse Manager with administrative responsibilities, including scheduling, reporting, and other operational activities.
Serve as a clinical and operational resource for the surgical team across multiple specialty services.
Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN ) required.
Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required.
Minimum 1 year of nursing leadership experience required.
Strong communication, leadership, staff development, organization, and operational decision‑making skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary surgical teams.
