Assistant Patient Care Technician (CNA Preferred) - PerioperativeJoin a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and essential support to patients in a perioperative setting. As an Assistant Patient Care Technician, you will work under the guidance of licensed nurses to deliver direct patient care that promotes safety and comfort.Under the supervision of a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or shift manager, you will assist with vital patient care tasks, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all patients.Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes to licensed nursing staff.Perform basic patient care activities such as monitoring vital signs, conducting glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility.Collaborate closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs promptly and enhance the overall patient experience.Accurately document all patient care activities to support clinical decision-making and quality outcomes.Effectively communicate relevant patient information to healthcare team members to improve care quality.High school diploma or GED is preferred.At least one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.If uncertified or with less than one year of experience, candidates must complete a specialized Patient Care Assistant training program. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided.This role requires significant mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and other movements necessary to assist patients safely.Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional interactions with challenging individuals may occur.
