As an Assistant Patient Care Technician, you will work under the guidance of licensed nurses to deliver direct patient care that promotes safety, comfort, and recovery.General SummaryUnder the supervision of an RN, LPN, or shift manager, you will assist with vital patient care tasks, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all patients.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes.Perform basic care duties such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities.Collaborate closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs promptly and enhance their overall experience.Accurately document all care activities to support clinical decision-making and quality outcomes.Effectively communicate relevant patient information to healthcare team members to improve care coordination.EducationHigh school diploma or GED is preferred.ExperienceOne year of related experience is preferred but not required.RequirementsCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential preferred; if uncertified or less than one year experience, completion of a PCA training academy is required.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided.Physical demands include lifting up to 35 lbs., frequent walking, standing, bending, and other mobility tasks.Work environment may involve exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with difficult individuals.This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to patient care in a supportive and growth-oriented healthcare setting serving a broad regional community in the Midwest.
