Position has the potential to be on days should business needs change.Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing operation on the non-day shifts, under the direction of the Production Manager. This includes the meeting of established safety, quality, line efficiency, and production yields, cost per case, schedule attainment, and customer service standards and plant capacitiesWork with HR and Production Manager to recruit and retain personnel to achieve fore-mentioned standardsCoordinate and support training activities and develop staff to achieve established company goals / standardsSupport the Plant Manager/Production Manager in achievement of site KPI's in support of company goals and improvement initiativesCollaborate with corresponding departments to achieve company objectivesImprove safety culture at assigned site/shifts; increase employee engagement in identification and resolution of safety hazardsActively organize and review processes for continuous improvement/operations excellence (safety, cost, quality, delivery) on assigned shiftsResponsible for Food Safety on assigned shifts and support responsibilities under the HACCP PlanCoach, mentor and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisals, coaching on leadership competencies and ensuring IDP's are in placeMaintain employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, and disciplinary actionMay be responsible for coordinating and directing sanitation personnel in absence of Sanitation ManagerDevelop and execute a viable productivity funnel of projects and executable plansReport food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.Required Education, Skills & Experience:Associates degree preferred and/or 3-5 years' experience supervising hourly personnel in a manufacturing environmentExperience in a food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry and/or high-speed manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience in managing to a budget, department cost controlPrevious experience with Oracle or a similar ERP Business moduleEffective communication skillsCollaborative work styleProficient in software along with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Red ZonePassion for continuous improvement/operations excellenceSelf-motivatedAbility to motivate and influence others while motivating a teamDemonstrated ability to assist in development of leadership competenciesWorking Conditions:Ability to work off shifts (afternoons/nights) continuouslyRegularly required to stand, walk the manufacturing floor, use hands;Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 25 pounds;Constant exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.);Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant).Disclaimer: The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed and is not an inclusive summary of job duties and responsibilities.
