Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.Job Responsibilities:Oversee the production process making sure that products are produced on time and are of good qualityDisplays ability to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely, data driven decisionsUndertakes self-development activities; Seeks increased responsibilities; Takes independent actions and calculated risks; Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; Asks for and offers help when neededAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topicsDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure qualityCreate and maintain a world class standard for quality workmanshipMaintain a safe and healthful working environment where zero lost time injuries are the standard of work by all LMV employeesFollow and enforce all plant safety rules and procedures, promoting and practicing safety first policy, including housekeepingMaintain a motivated and proud teamwork environment with ownership in workmanshipEncourage two-way, open and friendly attitudes at all timesBe approachable and listen to employeesWork out and implement standard Work Instructions for production operations and ensure that they are adhered to as well as audited to the appropriate scheduleMonitor the production processes and adjusting schedules as neededEnsure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics and ManagementPromote, encourage, and educate ownership mindset to all production and support functionsParticipate and develop in active succession planningRespond to Customer Complaints/Requests/Concerns within a timely mannerSupport efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion SurveyConducting regular talks with Production employees on their individual job performances with helpful work-related feedback during reviews (individual corrective action plans)Production employees receive timely performance reviews annuallyDeal fairly, with dignity and respect, with all employeesResolve and help employees with their concernsApply consistent and fair progressive discipline to those employees who do not follow plant rulesConduct communication meetings with all departments discussing issues within the work areasDetermine and implement improvements to the production processMonitors scrap material costs and finds ways to improve and minimizeEnsures rework is complete and quarantine is kept to an acceptable operating levelBe on call 24 hours per day for emergenciesResponsible for adhering to OSHA and EPA regulationsActively participate in the cross-management team in achieving world class performance in safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement activitiesPromotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standardTreat all employees equally, fairly, with dignity and respect without favoritism in accordance with company core valuesResolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actionPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: Manage and supervise production employees in a production environment. Manages one complete shift consisting of Area Leaders, Team Leaders, and direct production employees. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.Education and/or Experience: Grade 12 education or equivalent. Degree in business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology or related field or combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to problem solve. Intermediate computer skills required. Ability to communicate with others, both verbal and written. Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, procedures and business correspondence. Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers. Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Able to work flexible hours to be available to three shifts.Physical Demands: Continuous walking or standing. Lift 50 pounds.
