Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry | College of Arts & Sciences
Responsibilities
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and medicine. Leveraging the resources of the Institute of Molecular Biophysics (IMB), this search is open to all areas of the chemical sciences with a focus on molecular biodesign, including biochemistry, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, chemical biology, bioinorganic chemistry, and biophysical chemistry. Outstanding candidates are sought to pursue innovative experimental research that advances the molecular understanding of biological systems and enables the discovery and development of new therapeutics.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized and externally funded research program in addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
Qualifications
A doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in a related field with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service is required.
Candidates whose research incorporates artificial intelligence and machine learning are encouraged to apply.
