Assistant Professor - IBBI / MII Faculty
The Institute of Brain, Behavior, and Immunology and the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center are partnering to recruit one tenure-track Assistant Professor who studies immune-brain interactions relevant to health. The candidates should focus on immune or infectious agent interactions with the central or peripheral nervous system in the context of behavior. Candidates should have an MD/PhD or PhD in immunology, virology, or microbiology with interest in immune-nervous system approaches, documented evidence of high-quality, impactful research, and a strong commitment to education and collaborative research at a major university. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and medical student education. Faculty will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up package. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications. Visa and immigration sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates.
Minimum Education Required Doctorate (Academic) Required Qualifications MD/PhD or PhD in immunology, virology, or microbiology with interest in immune-nervous system approaches, documented evidence of high-quality, impactful research, and a strong commitment to education and collaborative research at a major university. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
