The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Physical Chemistry. The appointment will begin in Fall 2027.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physical chemistry, including lectures and laboratory instruction.
Develop, sustain, and grow an active experimental physical chemistry research program that involves undergraduate and master’s students.
Mentor students, advise on research projects, and contribute to the department and university community through service.
Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and activities.
Engage in scholarship that yields peer‑reviewed publications and external funding.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field, with postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment.
Demonstrated excellence and potential in teaching, using student‑centered, active learning, and inquiry‑based approaches.
A record of research productivity in experimental physical chemistry or related areas.
Ability to develop an independent, funded research program that involves undergraduates and master’s students.
Effective communication and mentoring skills for a culturally diverse student body.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $7,206 – $7,350 per month (annualized $86,472 – $88,200).
