Assistant Professor of Counseling - Tahlequah Campus
Job Description:
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Northeastern State University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the M.S. in Counseling program. The M.S. in Counseling program is a CACREP accredited program with emphasis areas in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Addiction Counseling, and School Counseling. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach in a variety of counseling courses, but particularly those pertaining to addictions counseling.
A PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision is required. Dual licensure as an LADC and an LPC is preferred.
NSU offers courses on all three campuses including Tahlequah, Broken Arrow, and Muskogee.
The position is based on the Tahlequah campus.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to teach addictions counseling courses and core counseling courses (both didactic and clinical, including supervision of practica/internship). All course delivery integrates technology. NSU seeks candidates with experience or who are willing to teach in blended and online formats when needed. Additional opportunities to teach summer
classes for additional pay are available. Candidates are expected to maintain active membership and involvement with an appropriate professional organization (i.e. ACA, ACES, etc.). In addition to teaching, the position will involve student advisement, university service, and professional/scholarly contributions typically expected of a faculty member.
The institution may revise the terms of this role based on changes in state laws or policies.
Annual salary $57,610.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
