Job description
Faculty Support For Department Of Surgery
The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and assisting in fulfilling UTMB's threefold mission.
The person in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, including ICU/Critical Care, surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, care of hospitalized patients, and participating in call coverage, including in-house ICU coverage and in-house trauma coverage in Clear Lake, League City and Galveston. He/She participates in all teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds; house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics, and in-patient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings. Students include medical students, house staff, nursing, and allied health students. In addition, the person in this position will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the Department and Health System level.
Candidates should be a graduate of an approved medical school, have completed an approved residency training program, be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Surgical Critical Care and have a Texas Medical license without restrictions.
Salary: $335,000
