The Indiana University School of Medicine-Fort Wayne (IUSM-FW) is seeking well‐qualified and highly motivated applicants for a clinical‐track faculty position in the Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology and Physiology. Competitive candidates will have a significant background in teaching medical and professional students. The primary responsibilities for this education-focused position are contributing to the IUSMyears one and two teaching mission in the areas of physiology, cell biology and anatomy of organ systems. Additional responsibilities include participating in IUSM-FW's Scholarly Concentration program in Health Care Integration and Healthy Aging and contributing to the service mission of the school. An active research program is not a requirement for the positions, but the ability to engage in scholarship that mentors students, preferably in the areas of basic science or medical education, will be considered a plus. IUSMis committed to advancing outstanding educational delivery in an integrated environment of basic science and clinical care. Faculty must be highly collaborative and eager to work in interdisciplinary teams across fields and participate in the entire educational mission of the department. Opportunities exist for collaborations in course development across the School of Medicine including the areas of anatomy, physiology, embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy. The successful applicant will have opportunities to engage in relevant service opportunities with the department and school. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis; start dates are flexible.

We invite individuals who will join us in our mission to improve health equity and well-being for all throughout the state of Indiana. Fort Wayne is the second largest city in Indiana and is one of the fastest-growing cities in the Midwest. Fort Wayne has a low cost of living and is frequently ranked in the top 10 in several livability measures (Best City to Raise a Family (2022), Best Places to Retire (2025) as examples). A multitude of housing options (newer downtown apartment/condominium developments, older homes in mature tree-lined neighborhoods, traditional suburbs, and even acres of farmland or woodland) are available and all within a 20-minute drive of campus. Fort Wayne is home to excellent schools (public, private, and parochial), local colleges and universities, cultural attractions (Embassy Theater, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Zoo, Three Rivers Festival, excellent restaurants, among many others), and a variety of minor league sports teams (baseball, soccer, and hockey). Fort Wayne is served by three large, award-winning healthcare systems. Fort Wayne has over 120 miles of interconnected bike/walking trails, has numerous public parks and golf courses, and is within an hour drive of several Indiana State Parks (offering camping, canoeing/kayaking, tobogganing).
