Job Description Summary / TWC Summary: The College of Science Engineering and Technology at Texas Southern University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Unmanned Aerial Systems, who is competent in instructing students with an active research agenda. The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (Ph.D.) with an emphasis in Aviation, Drone Technology or Aeronautical Engineering from a regionally accredited university, with a supplemental field in Aviation Management or Drone Technology. This is a 9-month tenure track position with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Essential Duties Summary
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Unmanned Aerial Systems
Conduct research that is presentable at professional academic conferences and acceptable for publication in referred academic journals
Active participation in departmental, school and university committees
Service to one’s profession and the surrounding community
Advise and mentor students
Other job-related duties as assigned
% FTE: 1.0
Hiring Range: $69,808.00 - $90,750.00
Education
Ph.D. in Aviation, Drone Technology or Aeronautical Engineering from a regionally accredited university at time of hire.
Supplemental field in Unmanned Aerial Systems/UAV or Aeronautical Engineering.
Required Licensing/Certification
FAA Part 107 License (required).
