Major/Essential Functions:
Delivers high-quality diagnostic services in anatomic pathology
Participates in frozen section diagnosis, after-hours call and the autopsy service
Participates in multidisciplinary tumor boards and academic conferences
Contributes to departmental and institutional education programs and initiatives
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
Adheres to all compliance policies (e.g., HIPAA) and departmental billing regulations.
Adheres to the institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties.
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission.
Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso.
Required Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. degree.
Unrestricted Texas Medical License or eligible for Texas Medical Licensure.
Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of post-residency experience in surgical pathology.
Training or substantial experience in GI, Breast, Head & Neck, Gynecological Pathology, or another Anatomical Pathology subspecialty.
Experience in teaching medical students and residents.
Established or emerging regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.
