ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION AT SCRIPPS INSTITUTION OF OCEANOGRAPHY, UC SAN DIEGO – Air-Sea Interactions or Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
The Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) at UC San Diego invites applications for a faculty position. We seek an outstanding scientist/educator to establish a vigorous research program and provide leadership in their field, complementing existing expertise at SIO and other UC San Diego departments. SIO is a renowned center for oceanographic, atmospheric, biological, and earth sciences, with about 200 principal investigators. UC San Diego is a top research university committed to diversity and inclusion.
We are hiring for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position focused on innovative research in:
Physical processes at the air-sea interface, with a preference for sea-going observations.
Geophysical fluid dynamics and theoretical research related to oceanic phenomena.
The successful candidate will develop a strong, externally funded research program, contribute to teaching in physical oceanography, and support diversity and mentoring efforts.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in physical oceanography or a relevant field, evidence of research potential, service, diversity contributions, and mentoring experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and UC pay scales.
