Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Project Manager role supporting construction projects across New York City’s five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
The Assistant Project Manager will work with lead Project Managers and field teams to keep projects on schedule, within scope, and on budget. Responsibilities include tracking schedules and costs, coordinating materials and site logistics, following up with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and agencies, and maintaining RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and other project records. The role also includes site visits, tracking inspections and permits, and helping resolve field issues promptly while maintaining Premier’s safety and quality standards.
Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination across assigned NYC projects.
Follow up with foremen on manpower, materials, deliveries, equipment, and upcoming work, and report needs or delays to the Project Manager.
Visit job sites to take measurements, document existing conditions, and collect progress photos in CompanyCam.
Review drawings and scope with the Project Manager, mark up field conditions, and draft RFIs for review.
Prepare quantity takeoffs and scope descriptions to support bids and change orders; do not price or submit them independently.
Request quotes from suppliers, rental companies, and subcontractors, and organize them into comparison sheets.
Prepare and maintain submittal, sample, and mock-up logs; follow up on outstanding approvals.
Update project schedules and track weekly quantities and production using information from the field.
Help prepare owner/GC and subcontractor requisition backup by documenting completed work and proposed percentages for Project Manager review.
Track permit status and expiration dates, flag upcoming renewals, and help gather documents needed for closeout.
Maintain project binders, daily reports, inspection records, and current files in OneDrive.
Record meeting notes, action items, and field decisions, then follow up with the responsible parties. xhqgsiq
Promptly flag safety, quality, schedule, scope, and NYC DOB or DEP compliance concerns to the Project Manager.
