Role Description The Assistant Service Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Pendleton, IN. This role supports the Service Manager in overseeing daily service department operations, including scheduling and coordinating repair work, assisting technicians with work orders, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of service jobs. The Assistant Service Manager communicates with customers regarding service needs, estimates, and status updates, and helps resolve service-related issues with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities also include monitoring workflow, supporting parts ordering for service jobs, maintaining accurate service records, and promoting safety and compliance with company policies. The role involves collaborating with sales, parts, and other departments to deliver a seamless customer experience and contribute to overall dealership performance.
Qualifications
Service operations and management skills, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and shop organization.
Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and build long-term customer relationships.
Basic mechanical and technical understanding of agricultural equipment, with the ability to support technicians and interpret service documentation.
Administrative and computer skills, including use of service management software, documentation, and general office applications.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support a positive, respectful workplace culture.
Previous experience in equipment service, dealership operations, or a related field is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training in equipment or mechanics is beneficial.
Must hold a valid Driver's License.
