Assistant SuperintendentMortenson is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent responsible for providing coordination and supervision of sub-contractors and craft team members within a particular construction discipline.This position is 100% travel with regular rotations home every 3 weeks for 5 days and project location can be anywhere in the U.S.Visa sponsorships are not offered for this position. Prefer candidates that understand the basics of a utility scale solar field - piles, racking and modules.ResponsibilitiesManage project labor (craft labor, subcontractors)Monitor and address issues within weekly labor reportsReview and approve craft worker certifications and trainings for specialty craft rolesParticipate in site orientation training, first hour orientation, and site safety meetingsCoordinate review and approval of craft worker timecardsParticipate in hire and dismissal process of craft workersCoordinate on-site operations/Scope of Work (Equipment, Labor, Schedule)Provide guidance on activities including set-up, work in-place, and project closeout/demobilizationSupport and participate with Project Managers on schedule development and updatesCoordinate with equipment facility and outside equipment providers for project equipment, i.e. cranes, trailers, trucks, Conexus, etc.Review and verify quantity takeoffs and materials management process during the buyout process for specific scopes of workManage scope(s) of work Production and Innovation BoardsManage scope(s) of work Plan of Day (POD) activitiesSupport Safety Manager and/or Engineer with site safety audits, worker to worker observations, etc.Manage quality control of self-perform and subcontractors' workResponsible for the orientation, training, and timely performance evaluation of craft workers, including performance management process if necessaryOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years construction management or related experienceCurrent driver's licenseCompletion of or interest in Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice electrician program preferredElectrical circuitry qualified or ability to be qualified by Mortenson Electrical Managers, if necessaryAbility to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projectsOrganize and manage multiple project tasksBasic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesMicrosoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skillsPositive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesActive listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedbackAbility to travel up to 100%Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans and their intended useBenefitsMedical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount Program**The base pay range for this role is $95,700 - $129,200. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
