Job description
Real Estate Associate / Counsel | Commercial Real Estate | Essex County, NJ (Hybrid) $175,000 – $250,000 | Full-Time | 3–15 Years’ Experience
Are you a commercial real estate attorney who would rather run the deal than just mark it up? Empower Staffing is partnering with a New Jersey real estate practice to find one or two attorneys ready to take files off the practice leaders’ plates. You’d get ownership of meaningful work from day one and a genuine path to partnership.
You’ll work on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financings, leasing, and development deals, for entrepreneurial New Jersey developers, property owners, and investors.
What You’ll Do
Draft and negotiate PSAs, leases, and loan documents, and manage closings with partner oversight rather than step-by-step direction
Work directly with entrepreneurial clients, bringing them solutions and not only flagging issues
Review title and survey on complex commercial deals
Support land use and redevelopment matters, including zoning approvals, redevelopment agreements, and PILOTs
Work alongside practice leaders on marquee matters such as CMBS loans, 1031 exchanges, and mixed-use redevelopments
What You Bring
3+ years of recent, continuous commercial real estate transactional experience at a law firm
The confidence and judgment to take a file and run it
A track record of stability and commitment in your prior roles
Excellent writing and close attention to detail
A business-minded, client-facing approach. You help deals get done.
Active bar admission, or eligibility, in New Jersey
