Role Description
Guercio & Guercio, LLP is seeking a full-time on-site experienced attorney (7+ years) for its Farmingdale office to practice primarily in the areas of Education Law, Special Education Law, Labor & Employment Law, and Litigation. The attorney will work under the supervision of partners and directly with school district and municipal clients on a broad range of matters, including: general counsel and legal advice; student discipline; special education matters, impartial hearings and appeals; labor and employment issues; board governance and policy matters; collective negotiations; administrative proceedings; state and federal litigation.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Admission to practice law in New York State.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in education law, labor law, employment law, municipal law, labor negotiations, or related public-sector practice.
Demonstrated experience handling litigation, administrative proceedings, and/or labor arbitrations.
Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. xhqgsiq
Ability to independently manage a significant caseload while working collaboratively with senior partners and clients.

Starting salary, commensurate with experience, is expected to range from $140,000 to $200,000.
