Associate Attorney - General Liability & Product LiabilityLocation: Los Angeles or Irvine, CA Schedule: Hybrid Experience: 3+ Years Practice Areas: General Liability / Product Liability / Civil LitigationPosition OverviewA nationally recognized litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability and Product Liability practice in its Los Angeles or Irvine office.This opportunity is ideal for a California-licensed attorney with at least 3 years of defense litigation experience who is comfortable independently managing cases, taking depositions, handling discovery and motion practice, and supporting matters through trial.The attorney will work on sophisticated matters for both regional and national clients throughout California and will have the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of cases.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage a defense litigation caseload from inception through resolutionRepresent regional and national clients throughout CaliforniaHandle general liability and product liability mattersConduct plaintiff, fact witness, and expert depositionsPrepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trialDraft and respond to written discoveryReview and analyze complex discovery requests and case materialsDraft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documentsConduct legal research and develop case strategyParticipate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings as appropriateAssist with all aspects of trial preparation and trial supportCommunicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal case teamsMaintain accurate and timely billing and case recordsQualificationsRequired:Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law schoolActive license and good standing with the State Bar of CaliforniaMinimum 3 years of litigation experienceDefense experience in General Liability and/or Product LiabilityDemonstrated experience with depositions and motion practiceExperience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositionsAbility to independently manage cases and deadlinesStrong legal research, analytical, and writing skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to effectively manage multiple matters simultaneouslyIdeal BackgroundCandidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are especially relevant:General Liability DefenseProduct LiabilityPremises LiabilityPersonal Injury DefenseComplex Civil LitigationToxic TortCommercial LitigationInsurance DefenseCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $130,000The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical insurance through Blue Cross Blue ShieldDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurance401(k) retirement plan through VoyaUnlimited PTOCell phone stipendTechnology reimbursement/supportFitness reimbursementProfessional liability coverageIdentity protection benefitsMedical, dental, life insurance, and other eligible benefits effective on day oneVision coverage effective after 30 days
