Start Your Claims Career with a Leader in Trucking InsuranceAssociate Claims Specialist – Physical Damage & Cargo (Entry Level)Locations: Boise, ID or South Sioux City, NEAre you analytical, customer-focused, and interested in building a career in insurance claims? Great West is seeking an Associate Claims Specialist to join our Physical Damage and Cargo team. This entry-level opportunity offers extensive training, hands-on experience, and the chance to develop expertise in a specialized area of the trucking insurance industry.In this role, you'll investigate and resolve physical damage claims while helping customers navigate the claims process during challenging situations. If you're looking for a career with professional growth, excellent training, and meaningful work, this is the job for you!What You'll Be DoingInvestigate and Resolve ClaimsInvestigate and document accident details involving commercial vehicles and cargo losses.Review policy coverage and determine applicable physical damage and cargo benefits.Guide insureds through the claims process, including coordinating towing, recovery, cargo transfers, and repair services.Gather and review repair estimates, cargo evaluations, photographs, and other claim documentation.Establish appropriate claim reserves based on damages, exposures, and policy provisions.Work with independent adjusters to obtain inspections, photographs, and other necessary information.Collaborate with attorneys and other business partners to address coverage concerns and resolve claim issues.Negotiate settlements and issue timely claim payments.Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities.Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.On-Call SupportParticipate in an after-hours rotation to assist with emergency physical damage and cargo loss reports.Coordinate towing, recovery, and cargo transfer arrangements when necessary.What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree or equivalent required.Previous claims experience, commercial insurance knowledge, or trucking industry exposure preferred but not required.Strong problem-solving, investigation, and decision-making skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to helping others.Detail-oriented with solid organizational and documentation skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.Why Great West Casualty Company?At Great West, an Old Republic Company we invest in our people.
