Associate Clinical Assistant (UCA) - Surgery Unit DaysSupport nursing practice and care delivery through a blend of direct patient care, communication, and clerical duties.Use supplies and equipment efficientlyComplete assignments promptly and leave shift on timeUtilize timekeeping systems accuratelyDemonstrate productivity and accept extended day off (EDO) and float assignmentsComplete work orders and support unit goals to reduce wasteParticipate and document according to unit standards and stay current with policy updatesProblem-solve and multitask within scope of practiceOffer suggestions to improve unit flow and patient experienceAccept delegated tasks appropriatelyEngage in teamworkPromote patient satisfaction through recognition and timely responsesUse personal electronic devices professionally and minimize noiseExemplify excellent guest relations with patients, families, and visitorsPerform purposeful patient roundingPractice safe patient mobilization and fall preventionUse two patient identifiers for all tasks and point-of-care testingUtilize event management system for unusual occurrencesAdjust care routines to meet individual patient needs as assignedAdhere to HIPAA and social media policiesShare knowledge and skills with colleagues, including orientation and cross-trainingDemonstrate leadership by serving as a resource, council member, super user, or preceptorIdentify professional development needs and collaborate with managementParticipate in departmental goal development and practice change in-servicesEngage patients and families with professionalism and flexibilityMaintain a quiet, respectful patient environmentPractice AIDET communication (Acknowledge, Identify, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)Promote teamwork and maintain positive interdepartmental relationshipsProvide holistic care for diverse patient populationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic BLS certification required within 3 months of hire6:00am – 6:30pm, full-time, 36 hours weeklyThis position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
