Description: O’Connell Electric Company is seeking a highly organized, self-driven, and detail-oriented Associate Counsel. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and taking direction from the Associate General Counsel, the successful candidate will collaborate on a wide range of legal issues impacting the company's construction business. Key responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating construction-related agreements, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, mitigating legal and financial risks, and assisting with construction claims and disputes.
Eligibility:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the New York State Bar (recent graduates sitting for the NY Bar Exam with strong academic performance and work ethic may be considered).
Prior legal internship, externship, or clerkship experience is preferred, particularly in construction, labor/employment, commercial contracts, litigation, or corporate law.
Compensation: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year (dependent on geographic location, skills, experience, and travel).
