Associate Director and Staff Psychiatrist – Interventional Psychiatry
Location: Zucker Hillside Hospital / Northwell Health, Glen Oaks, NY
Roles
Associate Director – Full‑time attending psychiatrist with protected administrative time. Oversees the ECT service, collaborates on additional interventional modalities, evaluates patients, manages interventional staff, and participates in research initiatives.
Staff Psychiatrist – Full‑time attending psychiatrist. Evaluates referred inpatients and outpatients, develops treatment plans, delivers interventional treatments, and supervises trainees.
Responsibilities
Evaluate inpatients and outpatients with complex psychiatric diagnoses.
Communicate with referring providers and assess patient appropriateness for ECT, ketamine, TMS, and other interventional treatments.
Formulate comprehensive treatment plans and deliver assigned interventional therapies.
Supervise other interventional psychiatrists and trainee programs.
Maintain clinical schedules and engage in performance‑improvement and quality‑initiative activities.
Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with departmental, hospital, system, and related policies.
Participate in research and academic activities as opportunities arise.
Qualifications
MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry.
Eligibility for a New York State medical license.
For the Associate Director: minimum two years of demonstrated experience and expertise in ECT service delivery; experience with additional interventional modalities preferred.
Existing or developing expertise in ketamine and TMS.
Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
