Promote sound engineering practices, continuous improvement, and innovation while remaining current on relevant technology, financial services, and industry trends.

Lead, coach, and develop software engineers and technical leads; set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, support career development, and build a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Attract, develop, and retain talent; support workforce and succession planning; and ensure the team has the skills and capacity needed to meet current and future business priorities.

Establish operational ownership for production support, incident response, root-cause analysis, risk remediation, and service improvement, including participation in an on-call rotation when required.

Agile delivery practices, DevOps and release management concepts, production support, incident management, and continuous improvement.

Enterprise technology governance, risk management, information security, and controls appropriate to financial services.

Modern digital platform concepts, including scalable services, APIs, cloud-enabled technologies, observability, and resilient application design.

Skill in:

Leading engineering teams and delivering complex software initiatives involving both internally developed and vendor-provided solutions.

Translating business objectives into technical plans, delivery roadmaps, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes.

Evaluating application design and architecture, identifying technical and operational risks, and guiding teams toward practical solutions.

Applying Agile delivery practices and using metrics to improve delivery predictability, quality, and service reliability.

Managing budgets, vendors, staffing, and competing priorities in a complex enterprise environment.

Communicating clearly with technical and nontechnical audiences, influencing decisions, resolving conflict, and building consensus across teams.

Ability to:

Build and sustain a high-performing engineering organization by attracting, developing, coaching, and retaining diverse talent.

Set clear direction, establish high standards, delegate effectively, and hold individuals and teams accountable for measurable results.

Build trusted partnerships across Product, Architecture, business, operations, risk, security, and vendor teams to achieve shared objectives.

Use customer and business outcomes to guide priorities, decisions, processes, and service improvements.

Lead organizational and technical change, encourage innovative problem-solving, and adapt plans as customer, market, regulatory, and technology needs evolve.

Communicate complex information in a clear and compelling manner that supports timely decisions and coordinated execution.

Work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and occasionally support a nonstandard schedule, including nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities.

Education/Previous Experience:

At least 7 years of relevant technology experience, including software development and people-management or technical-leadership experience; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
