Job description
University at Buffalo is hiring an Associate Director of Advancement for the College of Arts and Sciences. The role involves building and managing a donor portfolio with gifts of $50,000 or more, conducting extensive donor engagement through travel and face-to-face visits, and collaborating with university leaders to support strategic fundraising aligned with institutional goals.
Highlights
Manage a robust donor portfolio by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects capable of giving $50,000+.
Conduct donor engagement and outreach requiring 50-75% national travel focused on key alumni and donor markets.
Collaborate with advancement leaders, faculty, and volunteers to support fundraising efforts and school events.
Maintain accurate digital records and adhere to best practices for donor management and compliance.
Participate actively in division and university life including meetings and professional development.
Required skills include excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, technical/digital competence, and project management experience.
Must have a bachelor's degree and at least three years of fund-development experience with proven success in goal achievement and personal solicitation.
Ability to work independently and with diverse teams, and to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 to $75,000.
