Job description

Pay Rate Range $49.00-$59.00 per hour depending on number of classes taught

Continuing Education and Community Engagement’s English Language Institute is hiring in-person adjunct ESL instructors to teach ESL classes on a rolling basis.

No online classes

Responsibilities

Teach ESL classes according to the class objectives and materials

Read ELI Mission and curriculum, prepare class syllabus according to the provided syllabi templates, read and follow guidelines outlined in the ELI Faculty Handbook

Attend one faculty meeting and 1 sponsored activities (4 hrs. total) per session

Keep attendance, report attendance daily, record grades weekly, be able to arrange for substitutes in the event of an absence, maintain communication with ELI and check email daily

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s in TESOL or in a related field with a TESOL Certificate

Teaching experience, preferably in a variety of skills and levels

Preferences

Ability to work individually and as a member of a team

Ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of cultures and countries
