The Opportunity

The Associate, Investment Administration role is a critical part of the ImpactAssets (IA) Investment Operations team, which supports investment execution, post-investment management, monitoring, and administration for private debt and equity investments that are recommended by IA’s donors/clients and proprietary internal funds and portfolios. The Investment Administration team manages capital calls and distributions, monitors investment activity, collects and imports valuations, and coordinates transaction and portfolio activity for IA’s internal pools. This role is a part of the engine at the heart of ImpactAssets’ mission and the team that catalyzes our clients’ capital toward social and environmental progress. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and improvement-focused with exposure to private investments in an operational setting. You generally love operations functions and embrace transactional and complex work, independent and collaborative functions, and enjoy process definition and documentation. This role is a full-time, remote position and can be performed from anywhere in the US, with a requirement to work Eastern Standard Time business hours. As a remote, people-first culture, we care deeply about our team members’ connections to one another, and as such, travel 2-3 times per year to company events will be required.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Operations

Collect, organize and manage monthly/quarterly/annual Fund reporting

Identify and record daily investment activity including NAV updates

Use attention to detail and logic to ensure transactional data quality

Reconcile and maintain data integrity in legacy and new investment management system

Assist with preparation of client reporting deliverables through timely data processing and periodic reconciliation

Support new investment processing with investee coordination and document preparation

Use judgement to escalate issues and requests appropriately

Process Improvement & Collaboration

Proactively propose and document process improvement opportunities and become part of the solution

Document processes and best practices for use by the Investment Operations Team

Provide an elevated level of customer service to internal stakeholders

Communicate effectively within team, cross-functionally, and externally with fund contacts

Other:

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or related field; minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, finance or investment operations/servicing; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience working with private investment data preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Strong Excel skills and ability to interface with various technology systems

Energetic and organized individual: highly attuned organizational skills, attention to detail, professional demeanor, ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands

Knowledge of, and passion for, impact investing and the variety of investment structures used; including, understanding of investments and financial services, impact investing, donor advised funds, and custodial relationships preferred.

Resourceful in searching for responses to questions and developing solutions

Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams required

Proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools Box and Asana preferred

Adopts new technology and AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency, with a willingness to learn as tools and systems evolve

Experience working with Addepar preferred

Experience working with Freshdesk preferred

Experience working in a virtual working environment preferred

Base salary ranges from $75,000 - $83,000 and is highly dependent on experience and location
