Job description
About our client
Our client is a profitable, fast-growing clean energy finance platform that helps developers and corporate buyers navigate the renewable energy tax credit transfer market. It has facilitated billions of dollars of tax credits and works with hundreds of developers. The lean team is now expanding into construction financing, bridge financing, tax equity, and preferred equity, and has built a proprietary diligence platform to move faster than the market.
The role
Our client is hiring an Associate / Manager to take on real responsibility across tax credit transactions and the build-out of its broader capital solutions business. You'll start close to the existing transaction team, owning key pieces of diligence, underwriting, and buyer and seller communication. Over time the seat grows into a generalist role as new products launch. This is for someone who wants to own deals rather than a narrow slice of them.
What you'll do
Support, and eventually lead, renewable energy tax credit transactions from initial diligence through closing
Underwrite and analyze clean energy projects and transactions
Run diligence across project, financial, legal, and tax documentation
Coordinate with buyers, sellers, developers, and other counterparties, and become a primary point of contact for clients
Evaluate transaction structures and flag risks early
Help build new capital products and work with the product and engineering teams to improve the platform and automate recurring processes
What we're looking for
About 2 to 6+ years in finance, investment banking, project finance, structured finance, renewable energy finance, tax credit finance, or infrastructure investing
Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills
Experience working through transaction diligence and execution
Comfortable talking directly with clients and counterparties, and owning workstreams independently
Strong written and verbal communication, and attention to detail across multiple workstreams
Genuine interest in clean energy and emerging capital markets
Direct renewable tax credit experience is preferred, but strong transaction, underwriting, or project and structured finance backgrounds will be considered
Why this role
Join a fast-growing clean energy finance platform at the start of its next phase
Work across the full capital stack, not a narrow function
Direct access to senior leadership and clients
Help shape the underwriting and diligence process and the technology behind it
Comprehensive benefits, 401(k), and generous paid time off
