Associate Medical Biller/Collector CMRSCamp Pendleton, CA $41,999 - $49,999 a yearFull TimePosition OverviewThis role involves managing the timely submission of insurance claims from diverse medical providers and facilities, ensuring payments for medical services are received promptly. The individual may also act as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, obtaining missing information as needed.Identify the correct insurance party to bill, including secondary and tertiary insurers.Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to perform billing duties and maintain accurate, compliant medical records.Process claims and credit accounts upon payment.Review insurance payments for accuracy and contract compliance.Investigate denials or partial payments and collaborate with involved parties to resolve discrepancies.Manage assigned accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding claims and follow up as necessary.Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives to clarify billing issues.Consult supervisors and team members to address billing and collection questions.Follow policies and procedures to maintain quality and escalate compliance concerns appropriately.Prepare reports and complete administrative tasks such as answering phones, faxing, filing confidential documents, and using email and internet tools.Deliver professional customer service to both internal and external customers.Work collaboratively as part of a team while meeting deadlines and productivity goals.QualificationsAt least 1 year of experience posting in a healthcare setting.Strong customer service skills.Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and cooperation abilities.High ethical standards and professional integrity.Understanding of medical and surgical terminology.Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to confidentiality.Proficiency with email, internet, and payer websites.Preferred experience with billing systems such as GE Centricity and SRS Caretracker.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; able to present ideas clearly and professionally.Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Ability to interpret complex documents and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries.EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Associate's Degree in Business Administration preferred.CertificationsCertified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) certification preferred.All candidates must successfully complete a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment. This position is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Pacific Southwest region of the United States.
