If you're looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you're in the right place.About This RoleDow has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Operator in Seadrift, Texas.The purpose of this job is to operate assigned equipment or areas of the plant and perform operations related activities per the work process, utilize chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner, work in a team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision. This is a 24-hour operation and will require the ability to work 12-hour shifts during the day and at night on a rotating basis.ResponsibilitiesFollow Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areasOperate and field check process equipmentMonitor process conditions, equipment and control systemsPerform tasks assigned to operations as per a standard task list including field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.Ensure operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goalsUse troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems and maintain equipment reliabilityInitiate and participate in Root Cause Investigations as requiredCoach and train others on plant operationsStrong collaborative skills with ability to work with the greater teamPerform immediate response activities and manage unplanned eventsUse process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and Operating DisciplineUse measurements and tools to operate the Plant at optimum conditionsPerform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplinesManage multiple and complex plant computer control systemsPerform all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.Operator a forklift/fork truck.Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent AND one of the following is required.Associates degree or higher in Process Technology (or related degree).Dow will consider those with 3 or more years of relevant military experience in lieu of a degree.3 or more years of experience as an Operations Technician in a Chemical, Oil and Gas or Manufacturing environment or related.Will be required to pass a technical review board prior to certifying.Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.Able to work overtime as needed.Able to work night and weekends as required.Have a current, valid US driver's license.A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.Physical DemandsAble to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:Lift, push, and pull.Frequent bending, reaching, and liftingStand and walk for extended periods of timeWork at heights, climb stairs and ladders.Work in tight and closed in spaces.Willing to work at elevated heights.Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.Work in an area with hazardous materialsHandle material from drums.Work at heights greater than or equal to 4 ft off the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
