Description

nThe Insurance Verification and Authorization Specialist is responsible for securing appropriate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance, and medical information, identifying services requiring authorization for treatment and referral information. This role is responsible for adding proper documentation to reflect the work in Epic.

nRequired qualifications:

nnn1 year experience in customer service, hospital billing, or healthcare registration

n

nnClerical and computer experience

n

n nPreferred qualifications:

nnnCoursework/Training: Some college level course work

n

nnCoursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of college level Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant course

n

nn1 year Healthcare experience in a hospital or clinical setting, health insurance or medical office

nPosted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
